what I like: brush strokes, how his white is never really 'white'. sallow quality of subjects.
similarities: emaciated figures, self-portraits, almost pornographic characters (he's a rebel)


Kay Nielsen
Piece: hold tight to my shaggy coat (aww)
what I like: I like her sense of composition a lot, her sense of proportion of bodies and the fairy-tale quality/old books feeling
subject similarities: horses, mythical creatures, fairy tale stories, droopy trees

I like clean drawings...line quality is important..umm I don't think I learned anything I didn't already know, but it was inspiring in the least!

illustrating and writing a children's book

...I'm pretty sold on most of these; every time I think of something new, I really want to do that! I need something for that ______ though.


This weekend, I decided I want to be a sports photographer, even though I probably won't be one. But how awesome would that be? I'd work for ESPN or sports illustrated or some other ...sports related magazine, and I'd go to NBA games all the time, attend crazy soccer games, see sunny/rainy baseball games, travel frequently and get sent to the Olympics...all to take pictures. So sick. I think I'm going to ask for an appropriately sick camera for christmas..
